Richardson ISD offering free meals in June and July


Richardson ISD is offering meals to these 18 and underneath for six weeks this summer season.

Each breakfast and lunch will probably be out there at choose elementary and highschool campuses in June and July.

Meals will probably be out there on weekdays from June 7-25, and on weekdays from July 12-30.

“Richardson ISD youngsters want good vitamin year-round to allow them to study, develop and reach life,” mentioned Alissa Gustof, RISD govt director of Youngster Vitamin in a Could 17 launch. “With practically 2 million meals insecure youngsters dwelling in Texas, these wholesome meals are important to nourishing younger Texans in the course of the summer season trip.”

Breakfast and lunch will probably be out there at Massive Springs Elementary, Forest Lane Elementary, Prestonwood Elementary, Richland Elementary, Richardson Heights Elementary, RISD Academy, White Rock Elementary and Berkner STEM Academy Excessive College.

In June, breakfast will probably be out there at elementary faculties from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. The breakfast interval will probably be shortened to 7:30-Eight a.m. in July at elementary faculties.

Berkner could have breakfast out there from 7:30–8:30 a.m. and lunch from 12:15–1 p.m. in June.

The subsequent month, the highschool will solely present meals Monday-Thursday. Breakfast meals will probably be out there from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch will probably be out there from 12:30-1 p.m. throughout that point.

Funding for the meals comes from the U.S. Division of Agriculture vitamin program, administered by the Texas Division of Agriculture, the district shared within the launch.
