One factor has remained fixed through the COVID-19 pandemic – there was a scarcity of masks for frontline healthcare employees.
Many native residents, organizations and companies have pitched in to begin producing masks and different medical and security supplies, equivalent to private protecting tools (PPE) and hand sanitizer, to assist with the scarcity.
One native resident is praising his mom for stepping up and doing what she will be able to to assist the neighborhood throughout this time of want by making masks and cranium caps for healthcare employees.
Joshua Chuvalo says his mom, Tracey Chuvalo, and her associates, Sue Galka Cousins, and Sandi McMillan, jumped into motion to begin making masks as quickly as they heard there was want.
To date, the three girls have made greater than 2,500 masks and cranium caps, which have been donated to many hospitals and healthcare services, together with Lakeridge Well being, Extendicare, Oshawa Firefighters, Durham Transit, St. Mike’s Hospital, Centenary Hospital, and Scarborough Common.
“I watch her,” says Chuvalo of his mother. “She works 10-hour days at her day job, doing her regular day, after which she’s up till 11 at night time or till she will be able to’t keep awake and she or he’s making masks each night time.”
He says the ladies have been utilizing donated supplies from inside the neighborhood because of folks seeing the photographs and movies they’ve been sharing on social media.
“She’s an inspiration to me.
